Measuring Progress

Measuring your fitness progress is very important to keep motivated. The only problem is most people use pounds to measure their progress when this is the worst measurement to use. Body Fat percentage is one of the better measurements. When working out your going to gain weight because your building muscle which is heavier than fat. The best way to measure your progress is body fat percentage.

New Years Resolution

Its that time of year again, but why not start today then waiting to the new year. Get started on a good exercise program like Power 90 by Tony Horton on Slim in 6 by Debbie Siebbers. Nothing like starting today if you haven't exercised in awhile you can start out slow then really kick it in gear when the New Year comes around.

Liquid Pounds

Drinking a large coke on top of eating unhealthy food will add the pounds. Instead of drinking a sugary drink try a cold unsweet ice tea. This should quench your thirst and won't give you a gut to boot.

I really hate dieting and think it is the hardest part of a healthy lifestyle. The reason I hate dieting so much is that the fast food choices for healthy eating are very limited. By the time I get home from work I am so tired to fix meals and its so easy to stop and get some kind of fast food.

The steps I have taken is to get prepared meals but being a divorced parent and when the kids are home they really won't eat the prepared foods.

So I usually have to either fix them something or buy fast food. When I do make a meal for them it is so hard for me to resist eating what I fixed for them.

Also I use food as a crutch for stress.

What helps me is to not try to plan a week ahead but to just make plans for the next day. Also I will take a picture of what I ate that day with my cell phone and if I feel bad later on I go back through the pictures to remind myself of what made me feel so bad.

Keep Hydrated

Keeping Hydrated is very important when working out. Without proper hydration your body will not have as much energy to push yourself to the top and it won't burn body fat as easily. Water is so essential in burning body fat. Make sure you drink when you wake up in the morning. You have been breathing through the night exhaling water with each breath especially in the winter. By drinking two glasses in the morning your body will thank you with more energy and flexibility.

P90X Works Only for Certain People

When Beachbody came out with the P90X program on TV it was one of the best programs out there and still is. The one thing you must follow in the P90X program is the diet. Without following the diet you won't make much progression towards the new you. If you have not been working out before I would suggest you get the power 90 first and then after 90days of the power 90 progress to the p90x. Tony Horton does a great job in both videos and I hope to look as good as he does for his age. He will get your heart pumping and muscles bulging if you follow his plan. For you ladies adding the muscle on will slim you down and firm you up in this p90x. I give both the power 90 and P90X two thumbs up in providing a great workout routine.
